Job Description Summary:
We are looking for a Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) Techno-Functional Consultant to support our migration from Dynamics GP to NetSuite. The primary responsibility of this role is to work with the NetSuite implementation team and business users to help extract data from Dynamics GP, generate reports, explain the existing system, and support data validation during the migration. This person will act as the subject matter expert for Dynamics GP and help ensure that the migration team has the information needed for a successful transition. Experience with NetSuite is preferred but not mandatory.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the functional and technical point of contact for Microsoft Dynamics GP.
- Assist with extracting master and transactional data from Dynamics GP.
- Develop SQL queries and reports required for data migration and validation.
- Help the NetSuite team understand the Dynamics GP data structure, reports, and business processes.
- Support data mapping, reconciliation, and validation activities.
- Explain existing customizations, reports, and workflows in Dynamics GP.
- Work with business users to clarify data and process-related questions.
- Assist in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and resolve data-related issues during the migration.
- Document data mappings, assumptions, and any legacy system dependencies.
- Provide support until the Dynamics GP system is successfully retired.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of experience working with Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains).
- Strong understanding of the Microsoft Dynamics GP database schema and financial modules.
- Ability to develop custom SQL queries to support data validation, reconciliation, and migration activities.
- Experience providing financial and transactional data required for ERP migrations (Dynamics GP to NetSuite preferred).
- Knowledge of SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and data export/import processes.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work with both business and technical teams.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage priorities.
